The answer is: Reencle's output is a 'moderately unstable compost' - something that should be cured further to become a 'stable compost'. This compares to other compost processes where the organic material goes through different phases and is cured before it's ready to be applied on soil and plants. Reencle's machines reduce the volume and weight of food waste by a significant amount. This process is driven by their machine's action and the addition of a microbial inoculant. The output much less attractive to rodents and other animals than fresh food waste and can be cured outdoors or further composted in a worm bin. Adding any type of food waste separation bin to a kitchen helps people become more aware of the amount of wasted food they create on a regular basis. This epiphany then leads to people being more mindful with their food. Of course, eating food is always the highest form of use, before composting the food waste. Any percentage of reduction in wasted food is a win for your wallet and the environment. This video is a conversation between Tim Steckel (Compost Marketing Agency) and Joe Tegerdine (Reencle) about Reencle's new residential unit and their MegaReencle for commercial settings during COMPOST2025 in Phoenix, AZ. Being lighter and less voluminous, the processing is practical for use at home, in cafeterias, restaurants, schools, commissary kitchens, and anywhere there is a regular, large volume of food waste.
