Cuyabeno Reserve, Ecuador | What to expect in the Amazon Rainforest

While staying in Quito, Ecuador (go check out the video of our time there!), we visited the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest. To be more specific, the Cuyabeno Reserve, one of the deepest parts of the Amazon which is also a jaguar sanctuary. We planned this trip along with Guacamayo Lodge, an Amazonian company that provides tours by locals from the tribes. We took the 4 days, 3 nights tour but due to the pandemic, we were not able to visit the indigenous communities. During those days we: ⦿ We moved around the Cuyabeno river in a motorized canoe ⦿ Took a day-long canoe trip to fish piranhas, hike, and explore other parts ⦿ Took multiple day hikes and one super scary night hike! Where we saw tarantulas, scorpions, and even frogs! ⦿ Had multiple night excursions where we searched for caimans and snakes!
