New Beverly Cinema 7165 Beverly Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90036 Thursday, October 3, 2013 In collaboration with the French Film & TV Office in Los Angeles, LAGFF and the Consulate General of Greece, Elisabeth Fotiadou, together hosted an evening with Costa Gavras. Mr. Gavras, a Greek-born filmmaker, lives and works in France, and is best known for films with overt political themes. Following the screening of THE AX (2005), Costa-Gavras participated in a Q&A session with the audience. The film is an adaptation of the novel The Ax by Donald E. Westlake. The film follows the "hero", Bruno D. (Garcia), trying to do the right thing but having no choice than to take the wrong path.
