Forging Strikers with Iron Ram Forge

This week we follow Mike as he forges a round of fire strikers for our online shops. The Iron Ram Forge Striker is handforged from high carbon 1095 steel and then heat treated to give you a shower of sparks. We take pride in the quality of strikers, testing each one after it is made and before it leaves the shop to ensure it is in good working order. We’ve heard from our customers that other strikers they have bought have broken when dropped due to being completely hardened, you don’t need to worry about that on our strikers. Iron Ram Forge is a blacksmith shop run by father and son pair Mike and Ethan Yazel. The duo operates out of their dual story workshop they built together on the family farm. In the basement they work in the hotshop with metal and glass, on the second story they work with wood to make carvings and furniture as well as fine hand engraving for jewellery and historic accoutrements.
