Following an inspiring keynote exploring the longevity of the music industry and music education, this Q&A with Kadiatu Kanneh-Mason gave guests the chance to ask their own questions. The Q&A was led by Rajae Wright, a member of the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra. Rajae Wright loves all things jazz and plays the Trombone. He started his journey in music at the age of 9 having members of the Nottingham Music Service come into the class and give a set of trumpet and trombones. Having fallen in love with the trombone he started in the area band ensembles that offered music playing from all over the world. This then propelled him into the Robin Youth Orchestra where the knack for a musical challenge and having such a nurturing and supportive network ethos is why he stayed. he was able to go to Germany on tour with RHYO and play with another youth orchestra further expanding his knowledge of music. Due to the Nottingham music service and the Robin Hood Youth Orchestra Rajae had opportunities to play elsewhere in other bands outside of the service and orchestra including the Circle of Light programme and an internship turned traineeship working with the service doing a full circle inspiring young children to get into music as he once was at the age of 9.
