This is broadly broken into 2 categories. The first is patients whose distance from the nasal base to upper lip is elongated. For these patients, the lip lift is a home run with dramatic, long lasting results. The face is harmonized and patients are astounded as how much better it makes them look The other category is patients who are tired of going through the process of getting lip filler injections in their upper lip. The lip lift is essentially a 'permanent lip filler'. The procedure is done awake and takes around 1 hour to perform Should I be worried about a lip lift scar? The truth about scars is, the more tension the skin closure is under, the worse the scar will be. The key to a great lip lift scar is surgical technique. My incision is designed to hide in the crevices and valleys of the nasal base. The closure is such that the incision is kissing closed before any external sutures. Some patients prefer to stick to a liquid diet immediately after surgery, as excessive chewing can cause tension on the incision Do I need anesthesia for lip lift surgery? I perform lip lift surgery in awake patients. If the patient desires, 10mg to 20mg oral valium is given prior to surgery. Local anesthesia is placed along the incision.
