Tip-33; Previously known as hemangiopericytoma, solitary fibrous tumor is a dura-based often supra-tentorial fibroblastic neoplasm with a genomic inversion at the 12q13 locus, leading to NAB2 and STAT6 gene fusion and STAT-6 nuclear immunohistochemical staining pattern. Only 10% of cases are spinal in location. There is haphazardly arranged spindled to ovoid monomorphic cells admixed with hyalinized, dilated, thin-walled, branching, staghorn-shaped, blood vessels. It is important to grade the tumor properly, as this determines the outcome of the tumor. There are 3 grades, CNS WHO grade 1 less than 5 mitoses/10 HPF, CNS WHO grade 2:  5 mitoses or more/10 HPF without necrosis, and CNS WHO grade 3:  5 mitoses or more/10 HPF with necrosis.
