The Sharp 8800 amplifier has a built-in relay which switches the mains voltage on / off. This is done via a 12V control line which is connected to the central unit. Thus, the amplifier (power amplifier) ​​is switched on and off via the central unit. There are now several options for the modification: 1. Option: Bridge the relay (disadvantage: the device is always switched on constantly, if necessary, use a switching plug) = Not very elegant. Option 2: Installation of a mains switch (disadvantage: modifications to the mains cable, safety regulations). 3rd option: Connection of a 12V power supply (12V / 500mA = massive reserve) to the 12V control line, splitting the switching line inside the device and installing a switch. I chose this solution. Advantages: No modifications to the power lines necessary = no safety concerns. The device can be returned to its original state by soldering on the cube plug of the control cable again. Virtually any switch (even low voltage) can be used, as it only needs to switch 12V control voltage and only the minimum power consumption of the relay. You do not have to cut any leads at the back of the cable gland. WARNING: This is not a guide, handling or tutorial. Mains voltage is life-threatening! Do not open a device without adequate expertise and safety precautions. You should have the necessary specialist knowledge, knowledge of security and know exactly what you are doing. Work on mains cables / voltages may only be carried out by specialists with appropriate training! Text in German # Das Gerät ist Bestandteil von Sharps 8800 System (CD-Spieler, Tape deck, Plattenspieler, Radio, Equalizer, Vorverstärker) und kann ohne Modifikation nicht alleine (solo) betrieben werden. Im Sharp 8800 Verstärker befindet sich ein Relais integriert, welches die Netzspannung ein/aus schaltet. Dies erfolgt über eine 12V Steuerleitung die mit der Zentraleinheit verbunden ist. Somit wird der Verstärker (Endstufe) über die Zentraleinheit ein- und ausgeschaltet. Es gibt nun mehrere Optionen für die Modifikation: 1. Option: Das Relais brücken (Nachteil: Gerät ist so immer konstant eingeschaltet, ggf. Schaltstecker verwenden) = Nicht sehr elegant. 2. Option: Einbau eines Netzschalters (Nachteil: Modifikationen an der Netzleitung, Sicherheitsvorschriften). 3. Option: Anschluß eines 12V Steckernetzteils (12V/500mA = massive Reserve) an die 12V Steuerleitung, auftrennen der Schaltleitung im Gerät und einbauen eines Schalters. Diese Lösung habe ich gewählt. Vorteile: Keine Modifikationen an den Netzleitungen nötig = keine Sicherheitsbedenken. Das Gerät kann wieder in Originalzustand zurückversetzt werden durch wieder anlöten des Original-Würfelsteckers der Steuerleitung. Es kann praktisch jeder Schalter (auch Niederspannung) verwendet werden, da er nur 12V Steuerspannung und nur die minimale Stromaufnahme des Relais schalten muss. Man muss so hinten an der Kabeldurchführung auch keine Leitungen abschneiden. WARNUNG: Dies ist keine Anleitung, Handlungsanweisung oder Tutorial. Netzspannung ist lebensgefährlich!
