My Panasonic HC-V500 died in a sudden and dramatic torrential thunderstorm downpour of rain .. but I was not upset to lose my Panasonic HC-V500 .. because the situation caused me to go order the Panasonic HC-V550 '-) I had to video the first part of the unboxing using my OLDER Fuji Fine Pix S2100 .. the video was kind of crappy .. as each era of camera technology progresses way beyond what we used in the "past". The FujiPix is an older single shot digital camera and not a "video camera". I have to say i am in love with the Panasonic camcorders... I have the older "Ghost Hunting" IR Panasonic Pro AG DVC 30 Mini DV [in my opinion a collectors item] .. a beautiful camcorder !! I also want to use and work with the new sleek modern Hi-Tech camcorders .. and for some reason I love Panasonic! My initial test was without the image stabilization function. I saw that the 90x intelligent zoom is good for clouds .. planes and chemtrails .. but is not so good for flowers and plants close up in fields. I would have to probably switch off the 90x i zoom if I want to work with Nature close up ?? I am not so good with "Technical Descriptions" .. I have to visually see the effects and process on video before I understand the dynamics of the tool I am using. If you are a person who does not relate to PDF descriptions of camcorder functions .. all you have to do is VISUALLY test all functions '-) I have to get the dynamics of the visual zoom in different formats .. but the sound is pretty okay for a low level camcorder .. sorry .. I mean low level in the best possible way! Like this is a consumer non-professional camcorder. *Test of Panasonic HC-V550 with 90x intelligent zoom
