Montana Elk Hunt | Marine Veteran Dom Davila Tags a 600-Yard Bull | Northern Rockies Outfitters We’re headed to Northern Rockies Outfitters in Cascade, Montana, where outfitter Rich Birdsell continues a tradition that helped launch these veteran hunts years ago. After an unforgettable first hunt withBo Reichenbach, Rich told me, “If you find another veteran, we’ll make room.” That’s exactly what we did. I called up Bam from Wishes for Warriors and asked, “Who needs mountain time?” His answer: Dom Davila. Dom is a United States Marine, a machine gunner with 2/8 Marines, who survived an IED blast that cost him his leg below the knee. What followed was resilience, grit, and a relentless pursuit of growth through fitness, hunting, and pushing limits. Now living in Salt Lake City after growing up in Chicago, Dom has discovered a deep love for the mountains — and this Montana elk hunt is another chapter in that journey. Armed with his 28 Nosler and guided by Jay, we glass bulls within minutes of leaving the truck. Opening morning delivers action fast — cows, rag horns, and multiple mature bulls working their way into the timber. But Montana throws everything at us: wind, rain, snow, steep terrain, and brutal elevation. After battling weather, fog, leg cramps, and a 600+ yard cross-canyon shot opportunity, Dom settles in behind the rifle. Controlled breathing. Massive bull in the scope. One shot. Connection. What follows is a grueling pack-out through unforgiving country and a moment at the bull that none of us will forget. This isn’t just about elk hunting in Montana. It’s about brotherhood, perseverance, and what happens when veterans get back into wild places where healing happens naturally. This is more than a hunt. It’s about living. ⸻ 🦌 Species: Rocky Mountain Elk 📍 Location: Montana 🇺🇸 Honoring Veterans ⸻ 🎥 Follow Skull Bound 🌐 Website: https://skullboundchronicles.com 📸 Instagram: / skullboundtv 👍 Facebook: / skullboundtv 𝕏: https://x.com/skullboundtv ⸻ This video includes paid partnerships.
