Accessible Space, Inc. (ASI) recently hosted a grand opening and dedication ceremony for the Patriot Place Apartments, an accessible, affordable apartment community with preference given to qualifying U.S. veterans. The Patriot Place Apartments are located at 4245 South Pecos Road in Las Vegas, NV. ASI began working with local nonprofit organizations in Nevada in 1990 to develop Nevada's first supportive living settings for very low-income individuals with physical disabilities. Of ASI's 160 affordable housing developments funded in 31 states nationwide, 28 of those affordable housing developments are located in Nevada representing 1,198 units. The 50-unit Patriot Place Apartments is ASI's first low-income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC)-financed development designed for, and with a preference given to, qualifying U.S. veterans. Patriot Place provides 13 Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) project-based vouchers and 36 HUD Section 8 project-based vouchers, thanks to the support of the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Primary funding and support for Patriot Place Apartments was provided by: Nevada Housing Division, Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program; U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Clark County Community Resources Management; Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco's Affordable Housing Program/City National Bank; Wells Fargo Housing Foundation's Priority Markets Grant; US Bank National Association; US Bancorp Community Development Corporation; US Veterans Administration; and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority.
