Everyone makes mistakes, even genius film directors. Critically acclaimed filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Alfred Hitchcock, Clint Eastwood, George Lucas, Christopher Nolan, Stanley Kubrick, Peter Jackson and the Russo brothers all allowed glaring mistakes into their masterpieces. It’s one of those things that only makes rewatching a film more and more entertaining each time you see it. These mistakes have made it into some of the biggest franchises ever made. The Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Batman film series, the Indiana Jones films, Star Wars and James Bond all have some embarrassing mistakes you wouldn’t think would make it into such an expensive franchise. Then there are classics like The Shining that really shouldn’t have had massive mistakes for being so well made. Sometimes these are small mistakes in the background. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Braveheart, The Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, North By Northwest, Quantum of Solace and Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers all have minor issues with background extras or continuity goofs. Sometimes extras just aren’t as committed as the main actors. Then there are the giant goofs that you can’t believe made it into the final film. The Dark Knight Rises, American Sniper, The Goonies and Avengers: Endgame all have mistakes that are so glaring that it’s hard to believe that no one caught it in the final edit.
