Confirmation bias can feel like a mental trap, but this video shows how to turn confirmation bias into an advantage you can aim on purpose. If your brain keeps collecting evidence that you will fail, you can redirect it to collect evidence of progress instead. Confirmation bias is your brain’s tendency to search for evidence that supports what you already believe and ignore what you don’t. The key idea is that the bias itself is not picky. It will confirm whatever starting belief you feed it. Rather than forcing blind positivity, make the belief specific and testable. Swap vague claims like “I’m going to be amazing at this” for something you can actually prove: “I’m the kind of person who can improve this with reps.” Then run a tiny experiment: pick one action so small you cannot argue with it, like writing 100 words, working for five minutes, or sending one message. Capture the evidence on purpose by writing it down. Over time, belief drives action, action creates evidence, and evidence strengthens belief. What’s your small thing?
