Join the Marines of the Krulak Center at Marine Corps University for a look at how the Marine Corps is integrating wargaming into its professional military education programs, with both the challenges faced and lessons learned. Inspired by its namesake, the Brute Krulak Center for Innovation and Creativity enables an interdisciplinary approach to complex problem solving, fosters an environment that enhances our collective warfighting capability, and facilitates and encourages novel solutions to current and future warfighting challenges in order to expand the Corps’ competitive edge and improve our warfighting effectiveness. For more information, refer to: https://www.usmcu.edu/Academic-Progra... Bio: Major Ian T. Brown is the operations officer of the Brute Krulak Center for Innovation and Future Warfare at Marine Corps University in Quantico. He is a CH-53E pilot by trade, with experience in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the INDO-PACOM region. He’s also written extensively on maneuver warfare, military history, and future war, including the book A New Conception of War, published with Marine Corps University Press in 2018, and which is currently on the Commandant’s Professional Reading List. But most importantly for tonight, he’s been a lifelong wargamer, from beating his brothers at Axis and Allies as a kid, to cursing his squadron-mates for killing his Swordmaster in WarCraft III in Al Asad, to giving Sebastian the toughest fights of his life in Friedrich. Major Cooper is currently the Operations and Outreach Coordination Officer at The Brute Krulak Center for Innovation and Future Warfare at Marine Corps University (MCU). He will next be assigned to MCU’s Command and Staff College (CSC) in the summer of 2021. Commisioned in May 2009, Major Cooper has served with 1st Battalion, 11th Marines; Fox Company, 2d Battalion 4th Marines; 3d Battalion, 1st Marines, 31st MEU, and Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU).
