The Japanese artist made the announcement for the new enterprise, the name of which has yet to be revealed, Wednesday night on Instagram Live. However, Murakami did announce the name of the first silhouette, the Ohana Full-Bloom, and that it will be shown this weekend at Complex Con Hong Kong. “Ohana” is derived from a Japanese phrase that means “field of flowers,” and Murakami’s flower character has been a fixture of his artwork and products. The smiling flower forms the strap for the all-green Ohana Full-Bloom, which looks to be constructed out of a molded foam and features a wavy sole.
