It's a long story how I bacame a shepherd under solar arrays. Suffice it to say we're putting the "farm" into "Solar Farm." Rather than burn fossil fuels to mow underneath the solar arrays, Someone, (possibly Will Harris) had the brilliant idea to pasture sheep (and even certain kinds of pastured pigs) under solar arrays. Not only does it keep the grass and weeds in check without noisy mowers and fossil fuels, but sheep need shade! And this way the shade is provided. It also gives them shelter from rain and wind. Greg Judy introduced me to the idea of not having to own land in order to farm. It turns out that while it would be ideal to already have hundreds of sheep in my fold, the next big idea is RENTING sheep. yeah RENTING sheep. I'm currently in negotiations to do just that.
