"Angie" is a song by English rock band the Rolling Stones, featured on their 1973 album Goats Head Soup. It's an acoustic guitar-driven ballad characterizing the end of a romance. It debuted at #75 on Billboard and eventually made it to #1, and #5 in the UK. Keith Richards came up with the melody and title while in addiction recovery in Switzerland. Mick Jagger wrote the lyrics, which fans and critics have speculated were inspired by his breakup with Marianne Faithfull. Richards was also inspired by the birth of his daughter Angela, but initially stated the name was chosen at random. I've always loved this song but found it difficult to sing in the original key.....and the intro is a little challenging but really introduces the song's mood. Thanks very much for listening and I hope you like my cover version.....it's not perfect by any means, but I tried my best on this great Stones classic.
