Cross Processing C41 in B&W and Trichrome it

When it comes to cross processing film I always think about E-6 film in C41 chemistry and vice versa. But you can process C41 film in B&W chemistry. Normally the silver gets bleached out, but if you use standard B&W chemistry you get a standard black and white image on a cooked orange base. The only interesting thing is finding out how a certain color film stock would look as a B&W film. After trying this my first thought was: "what would happen if I trichrome it?" So I did just that, and it turned out to be an ugly mess. One of the things people rave about Ektar is it's color saturation and contrast, neither of which was present during this experiment.
