The Extended Play Sessions with Tweed Funk

We're into authentic, well performed soul music at The Extended Play Sessions Fallout Shelter and we're always on the lookout for bands that are steeped in the traditions of real soul music. Milwaukee based Tweed Funk are the real deal... fronted by Joseph Holman "Smokey" who recorded with Stax in Memphis in the late 60's. It doesn't get any more authentic than that! Jd Optekar is an old soul with a killer Nile Rogers groove and bassist Eric Madunic rustles up comparisons to James Jamerson or Carol Kaye forming an air tight rhythm section with drummer Dave Schoepke. Andrew Spadafora on sax and Travis Drow on trumpet add the Memphis horn sounds. One of the best soul outfits we've seen at the Shelter and some of the best people you'll ever meet!
