Pere & Marquette 1225 pulling the Christmas excursion train owosso Michigan🎄

Pere & Marquette steam engine 1225 pulling the holiday excursion Christmas 🎄🎁 train at msu. The 1225 is a Berkshire steam locomotive blt in 1941 by the lima locomotive works and retired in 1951 & famous for hauling freight especially in WW11 and for inspiring the polar express movie and now operating holiday excursions from owosso Michigan managed by the steam railroad institute. After serving on the pere and Marquette and the C&O it was saved from scrap and displayed at Michigan state university and restored by students becoming a beloved icon of Michigan railroading. Restoration began in 1971 to 1988 after that it was fully operational. Credit for this video goes to my good friend Andrew Johnson who did a good job capturing this historic locomotive and beautiful set of passenger cars.
