I still remember hearing when Roxhill Skatepark opened up when I was a little kid in the greater Seattle area. When we learned that the park was going to have obstacles from Street League set into the park itself, and that we were going to be able to skate on the same features that the pros did their contest tricks on, we were mind blown to say the least. It wasn’t often that pro skateboarders from across the country would make their way to the Seattle area, so when any skateboarder with a name made their mark on a local spot, all of the skateboarders in the area were guaranteed to hear about it. Roxhill being one of the only parks around the Seattle area that had actual spots from SLS, it quickly became renowned as a standard for a street skatepark for the area. Fast forward over a decade later, this park still has flow and features to keep even the best skateboarders challenged and entertained. Not to mention that some of the tricks done at that contest in 2011 are still mind boggling to this day when you see what some of these features look like in person. My favorite feature here is definitely the A-Frame Hubba. There are so many ways to skate that thing, and I’ve personally seen all of my favorite skateboarders growing up absolutely destroy that thing. The other notable detail about this park in my eyes is all of the perfectly sized rails. It’s a perfect skatepark to take the tricks you have solid to the next level, to something a little larger and longer. This park may not seem huge, but it demands respect. I knocked out this Skatepark Tour Episode in summer 2023, and I’m glad it went so well! I only had 3 short sessions at this park, but I had fun picking creative lines and making sure you guys would get a glimpse at all of the different things to skate at this park. Shoutout to skaters I met, I’m glad another memory is laid down in the books. Also, I still use that Nintendo Switch to this day.
