My First Solo Motorcycle Trip | Episode 1 | Newcastle to Dijon

Welcome to the first episode of my European moto camping adventure! In this series, I’ll be riding across Europe, camping along the way, and sharing the ups and downs of life on the road. I’m tackling this trip on a 1993 Yamaha XTZ660 Ténéré — a 30-year-old adventure bike that’s tough, but not without its own challenges when it comes to reliability. With that in mind, the adventure is as much about keeping the bike running as it is about the ride itself! In this episode, I set off from Newcastle Upon Tyne and make my way down through the UK, across the Channel, and on to Dijon, France over 3 days. Of course, no big trip ever goes completely to plan — I ran into a couple of problems right at the start of the journey… but managed to come up with some fixes to keep moving.
