Cannabis Social Equity for communities of color! ✊🏾 Social Equity Programs aim to address and assist individuals who have been negatively impacted by the disproportionate enforcement of cannabis-related crimes by: Providing assistance and opportunities to promote BIPOC (write our people of color) ownership and employment in the emerging cannabis industry Creating pathways to establish generational and communal wealth Reinvesting revenue into schools, businesses, and infrastructure to revitalize regions that have been historically impacted by the War on Drugs ✊🏾 BIPOC participation in the cannabis market “should be seen as a form of restitution, and a recognition that poor communities of color bore the terrible brunt of this war that cut people’s lives short, limited their opportunities, limited their educational and career advancement” (https://harvardpolitics.com/culture/r...) ✊🏾 Social Equity in San Diego: A Call to Action San Diego is the only major county in California that has not implemented a Social Equity Program; however, this could change on August 5th. The County Board of Supervisors is voting on Item #17: If passed, this will alter the trajectory of the legal cannabis market by establishing a Social Equity program in San Diego County.
