King Danjong reportedly described this place as “a lonely island on land.” 📍 Location · Geography Located about 3 km west of Yeongwol town, Cheongnyeongpo was formed by the winding Seogang River, a tributary of the Namhan River. The east, north, and west sides are surrounded by deep water, while the south is blocked by the steep rock cliffs of Yukryukbong, making it a naturally isolated place of exile. 👑 Exile of King Danjong In 1457, Danjong was demoted to Prince Nosan and exiled here.
