This concept belongs to Carl Gustav Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist. The idea is referring to the internal man (Animus) and the inner woman (Anima). Each one is made of both the masculine and the feminine aspects. At a physical level, nature gives us only one expression: we are either man or woman. At an energetic, emotional & psychological level, Carl G. Jung argued that we possess the opposite aspect: masculine for women and feminine for men. He explained this idea with the concept of Animus & Anima, the inner man, respectively woman.
