Detachable Petticoat | Extra Floofy Underskirt | How To Make a Petticoat | Using Thrifted Material HIII! I've been wanting to sew a petticoat for a long time now, but I've been stuck on whether I want to make a long petticoat or a short petticoat? Answer: Sew a detachable petticoat!! Which lead to question: How to make a detachable petticoat? I normally only sew with thrifted material, I came up with a few different ways I could make an underskirt work with different types of thrifted materials/fabrics. Well, that all changed when I found a huge mosquito net tent for $3.50! It is not the same as sewing tulle for a petticoat, but I thought I could make it work. I used plastic pink snaps to attach the base of the petticoat to the top part - you could also sew on buttons, use metal snaps, or hooks and eyes for the same effect! Sorry for SO much Farles Barkley; apparently he really identified with the floofy white skirt because he would NOT leave me alone! But I think he'd make a beautiful bride.
