HMSMUN 2025- Empowering Youth Through Diplomacy Our school proudly hosted its Annual Model United Nations (MUN) Conference on July 12 and July 13, 2025. The event brought together over 300 students from 24 schools across the city to simulate the workings of the United Nations and discuss pressing global issues. The theme for this year’s conference was "Ad Victoriam Per Concordiam" (To Victory Through Harmony). The event was inaugurated by the school principal, Astha Ghai Walia, who emphasized the importance of developing leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills through such simulations. The opening ceremony featured a keynote address by her, who spoke about the relevance of diplomacy in today’s polarized world. The conference comprised various committees, each with a unique agenda: I.UNHRC(United Nations Human Rights Council) ii. UNGA DISEC (United Nations General Assembly) iii. UNSC (United Nations Security Council) *iv. AIPPM (All India Political Parties Meet) v. International Press *vi. WHO (World Health Organisation) vii. IWC (Indian War Cabinet) viii. UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) Each committee was chaired by experienced student moderators, and the delegates actively participated in debates, drafted resolutions, and negotiated alliances, showcasing a commendable understanding of global politics. Best Delegate awards were presented to outstanding participants in each committee. Delegates enjoyed a night of cultural performances and informal interaction. A student-run press team documented the proceedings and recorded daily outcome throughout the event. The event not only enhanced students’ knowledge of international affairs but also fostered teamwork, diplomacy, and negotiation skills. Delegates left the conference inspired and more aware of their role as future global citizens. The HMSMUN 2025 was a resounding success and a testament to our school’s commitment to holistic education. The event received excellent feedback from participants and observers alike. Plans are already underway to make next year’s conference even more inclusive and impactful.
