I thought it would be entertaining to compile all of the in-car video of supercar sightings, antics, track spins or saves that my friends and I have been a part of or witnessed from 2024-2025 (mostly viewed from my 2008 Lotus Exige S240). Most of the spins that make it to my videos have been from trying different suspension settings, going "11/10th" to find out what happens ;), or often from using tires that I know are old/done (heat cycled out or showing cords). Basically play time. Obviously I would be much more careful if there were walls or if I didn't have a clear track. A mid engine short wheelbase (2,300 mm or 90.6 in) 40/60% weight split car on Hoosier R7 tires is harder to recover (it does get a little easier when I am running 200TW tires like the Bridgestone RE-71RS) than say my M3 50/50% weight split car on street tires which can almost be driven 90deg sideways and still be recovered. ;) Putting every "mistake" in a video certainly doesn't make me look like the best driver but I think these are fun to watch. If a spin happened I say it might as well be entertainment for someone! 😂 (as long as there is no damage of course)! For beginners it also might familiarize them with what not to do or give examples of what to expect so they can better prepare for the track. Tracks featured in this video: https://www.motorsportranch.com https://eaglescanyon.com https://www.hallettracing.net After changing the factory settings which help it handle better at the track (front ~-2.5deg camber, and rear ~-3deg camber) and adjusting the sway bar, it will aid the car to rotate in corners, it will achieve higher G's and over all it will have more total traction than the factory settings. This helps you get around corners at higher speed, but it also makes the car harder to prevent spins. It is a challenge that I enjoy. For example, if you have a Nissan GTR or Corvette Z06 with all the stability controls on... you will go much faster than me for sure - but.. so what? You are just driving the car in a circle.. what "driving" are you really doing? The car is doing all the hard (fun) work, you are just steering and pushing the gas. If I continue making these videos, the next ones likely will contain more content from a different car. I don't think there will ever be another new street car made with such the raw driving experience than the Lotus Exige/Elise. We love this car and it is so fun and awesome on the track. It is also ultra easy to deal with. I literally just drive it on and off the trailer (only because in 2012 time frame I started using Hoosier R6 then later R7 tires - the car is totally OEM street legal), using a small SUV to tow. I only need a torque wrench and a tire gauge as tools (and paper towels and glass cleaner when I am not borrowing them from friends ;) ). However, Due to its rarity and combined track and street driven insurance costs, I want to retire it from being the primary track toy. I am hoping its replacement is as close to the Lotus as I can get. 00:00 Intro 00:26 Pictures from 2024 through 2025 01:15 18DegF! 01:50 ABS failure 02:34 I thought we were in Texas, still cold.
