Our journey included a visit to the Shipwreck Museum grounds, where we viewed the monument to the Edmund Fitzgerald and saw some piping plovers on the Seney National Wildlife Refuge trail. Crisp Point Lighthouse: Visit this remote and picturesque lighthouse on the shores of Lake Superior. We learned about its history and the efforts to preserve this coastal treasure. The journey to Crisp Point was an adventure in itself, navigating winding dirt roads and enjoying the solitude of the untouched wilderness. Once there, we took in the stunning views of Lake Superior and the rugged coastline. Two Hearted River: Explore the natural beauty and tranquility of the Two Hearted River, a bucket list destination for me. The serene beauty of the river and the dense forest inspired us to slow down and appreciate the simple joys of nature. Kitch-iti-kipi: Dive into the crystal-clear waters of Michigan's largest natural freshwater spring. We took a ride on the self-operated raft to view the fascinating underwater features and fish. The spring’s turquoise waters and unique viewing platform provided an unforgettable experience, and we learned about its geological significance and history. Bay de Noc: Discover the scenic beauty and recreational opportunities of Bay de Noc. While we were fishing, we took a trip out to Peninsula Point Lighthouse, home of the monarch migration.
