A Grammar School Finance Director, Kevin Broughton has been active in the community from a very early age, crediting the values instilled by his mother and grandmother, as being a foundation stone in his life. From leading groups of other children for outdoor experience activities, teaching the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme, an ability to demonstrate qualities to others, to which they then aspire, with some acknowledging 'I think it was my idea'. Kevin considers himself a supporter, a facilitator, a motivator, an enabler, rather than someone who leads from the front. We learn what happened as a result of the loss of both his grandmother, and local vicar, the benefits he attributes to having compulsory scripture lessons when young, his gest that he was misplaced after being with his first girlfriend for ten years, and how he overcame a fear of speaking in front of others in later years, that no-one had recognised in him.
