The GIMMS team is delighted to present its event at which Warren Mosler, one of the contributors to the recently launched book Modern Monetary Theory: Key Insights, Leading Thinkers, was the guest speaker. Not only presenting his chapter 'A framework for the analysis of the price level and inflation' but also, as we witness an entire political establishment in the UK doubling down on household budget narratives, giving his thoughts on where the MMT movement might go next in its efforts to counter this dishonest representation of monetary reality. In the light of the extraordinary events of the last few years and the growing threat of ecological overshoot and climate change we need more than ever to challenge the orthodoxy and build on the UK movement's already considerable achievements. Warren is a financial economist who independently originated - and has spent the last 25 years promoting - the school of thought that has been popularised as Modern Monetary Theory (MMT). In 2010 he authored 'The Seven Deadly Innocent Frauds of Economic Policy', and also formally entered MMT into the mainstream economic literature in 2017, co-authoring 'Maximizing Price Stability in a Market Economy' with Professor Damiano Silipo. In his first section, Warren discusses A framework for the analysis of the price level and inflation', a copy of which is available via the link below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s...
