Antelope Island is an island in on the East side of the Great Salt Lake in Northern Utah. Antelope Island is accessed by a causeway. It is 7 miles across yet feels 150 miles from civilization when you actually get there. Bison, big horn sheep, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, jackrabbits, chukars, owls, hawks and coyotes are just a sampling of the wildlife found on the island. Antelope Island is best ridden between late fall and early spring. As soon as the biting flies, gnats and mosquitos hatch it is no bueno on the island. Snow melts off quickly and the trails dry up so it is ridable most of the season. There are a lot of trails that can be linked together to create “new” trails all the time. In this video I will show you a few of my favorites. One note; Bison are plentiful on the island and have no natural predator and have lost their fear of humans so it is advised to use caution when you see them. The Island recommendation is to give them 100 yards buffer.
