United Islamic Front soldiers sitting on table in street STORYLINE: More than 100 Taliban prisoners of war meekly await their fate in Taloqan city prison as officers of the United Islamic Front investigate their personal records. Those who did not commit serious crimes and were forced to join the Taliban army may soon be released. United Islamic Front officers may be less forgiving when it comes to the people they call 'foreign mercenaries', like 22-year-old Masood Ali from Peshawar in Pakistan. Conditions for the prisoners are harsh with up to thirty prisoners crammed in each cell. The two foreign prisoners are kept in a separate cell. In the streets of Taloqan opinions on what should be done with the prisoners are mixed. A shopkeeper thinks they should be allowed to return home but an alliance soldier says they should all be killed.
