New Zealand's Glacier Country Helicopter Tour - Franz Josef And Fox Glaciers 🇳🇿

I have just moved to New Zealand's South Island on a Working Holiday Visa and was lucky enough to be offered a free helicopter tour as a welcome gift from my job. This helicopter tour was 30 minutes long starting from the small West Coast town of Franz Josef. After we ascended, we flew south to the Fox Glacier where our pilot landed and allowed us to step out and walk around to take photos. From the glacier can be seen the beautiful Mount Tasman, the second largest peak in the country. After leaving the glacier we made our way up and over the Main Divide of the Southern Alps, or the highest ridgeline which separates the range from east to west. On our way back to town we hovered close to the obviously receding but very impressive Franz Josef glacier. I've been backpacking for several years now and I have never seen mountain views up close quite like this before. What a first impression to my new home in New Zealand! 🇳🇿
