To get that authentic Hong Kong style milk tea flavour, you will need to use a strong blend of tea mixed with evaporated milk for extra smoothness and aroma. This video features my dad mixing his own Hong Kong tea blend and brewing it at home. After experimenting with different blends of loose tea leaves over the years, he has perfected his own homemade secret recipe. He has included 4 types of Ceylon loose leaf teas, one of which is Lipton Yellow Label. The other types of tea leaves used in this video included Dilmah and Bushell. He also uses evaporated milk to get that full-body flavour.
