Duterte still has many victims, afraid to speak out because of ‘mini-Dutertes’ – Butuyan

Atty. Joel Butuyan, one of the lawyers of the drug war victims, said there are still many victims of former President Rodrigo Duterte’s bloody drug war campaign. However, they are afraid to speak out because of what he called “mini-Dutertes.” Butuyan emphasized that Duterte’s culture of impunity has created clones who believe violence can solve problems. He added that even with Duterte in ICC detention, victims still have “no rest and peace” because of what Duterte built through his impunity. He also pointed out that many senators, congressmen, mayors, and other powerful officials continue to support Duterte, which further discourages victims from speaking out.
