Keeper of the Flame. Levi Platero is a blues-rock guitarist and songwriter from the Eastern Agency of the Navajo Nation, whose music bridges tradition and innovation with electrifying grace. Steeped in gospel and raised in a family of musicians, Platero first emerged on the national scene with The Plateros—a family power trio whose fiery performances drew comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Los Lonely Boys, and ZZ Top. By age 12, Levi was already turning heads with his soulful phrasing and stage presence, performing at major events like the Gathering of Nations and eventually the 2009 U.S. Presidential Inaugural Ball. After a decade of touring with The Plateros and a stint with the acclaimed Native blues band Indigenous, Levi stepped into his own spotlight as a solo artist. His self-titled EP, featuring the award-winning single “Take Me Back,” earned him the 2016 Native American Music Award for Best Blues.
