Timestamps: 0:00 intro 0:28 normal ride 2:22 motor room 6:21 car top / lift shaft (technical data below) These lifts are located in a residential building in Berne. They were installed in order to replace some older lifts from the 90s.The old lifts were built by AS Schaffhausen and had Schindler Miconic B logic with Dynatron S drive. They were not in a group, one served the even, the other one the odd floors. In the other half of the building there was still one old lift left and the replacement process was undergoing. There will be a comparison video old/new some time in the future. The new lifts now both serve all floors and also go faster than the old ones. Due to fire regulations, one of the new lifts has to serve as a fireman's lift and is equipped with the needed intercom between ground floor, car and motor room. The firemans lift car has to be made out of non-flammable materials, forcing it to have a rather boring stainless-steel interior. Since all lifts in the fireman's lifts shaft have to obey these design rules as well, the other lift looks the same. It is currently covered in wood though because it is used to transport the components for the new lifts in the other half of the building. The other motor room is only accessible via the roof and the roof can only be accessed from the flap in the ceiling here where these lifts are. Quite interesting is the selection of components used in these lifts. In the early 2000s, Schindler bought many smaller lift companies in Switzerland and joined them together as AS Aufzüge. Since AS is owned by Schindler, they can sell and install Schindler components and even complete Schindler lifts (3300 and 5500). Now the speciality here is the SGB 142 winches with the Schindler belt cable system, joined together with a ZAdyn drive and a Böhnke+Partner logic. I've never seen this configuration before. Since AS has access to a wide variety of components, they could've also used one of Schindlers logics (preferably MX-GC) or some ZAtop gearless motors or a standard Sassi geared machine. But it is the combination of schindler and not-Schindler components that makes this installation so special. Furthermore, these are one of the rather few lifts that show the real potential of the SGB142 winch. Most SGB142 installations come with Bionic logic and are set to 0.5m/s² acceleration. This one here however accelerates much quicker and also levels perfectly, leaving only one small downside of the system: The toothbelt generates a rather high-pitched noise that can be heard in the car.
