There is a lot of information floating around online about PAT Testing - what it is, what it covers, and who should be doing it. Not all of the information out there is completely accurate, and can lead to dangerous situations if people try to test items which they are not qualified to do. In this long-form video, we get to the heart of the issue; we address some of the myths around PAT Testing in the UK, and explain exactly what you should be testing (and what you shouldn't) if you have completed a PAT Testing course in the UK. Presented by Tim James, Standards Director of the Portable Appliance Testing Trade Association (PATTA), and head of PAT Testing Expert, a company specialising in PAT Testing courses across the UK. Tim has more than 30 years experience in the industry and was part of the IET committee which updated the 5th Edition Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing, published in 2020.
