BiCities! ventured beyond the studio this past October to film on location at the Bisexual Organizing Project's annual BECAUSE Conference in St. Paul. There, we spoke with many presenters, organizers, and attendees, who come from all over the country and the world. In addition to our twice-monthly, half-hour episodes, we will be uploading these shorter-form interviews intermittently. In our interview, conference presenters Jim Larson and Jamie Ann Myers share many useful tools and practices to help Bi+ and Trans Folx safely navigate the kink and swinging lifestyles. They also talk about what people can expect in safe and supportive swinging and kink groups, as well as some red flags that may lead them to choose not to join a space or group. The BECAUSE Conference, which stands for "Bisexual Empowerment Conference, A Uniting Supportive Experience," is the annual conference of the Bisexual Organizing Project, dedicated to building an empowered bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer, and unlabeled (bi+) community in the United States.
