Overlanding Travel in the Namib Desert and the south of Namibia In Part 2 of our All Desert Epic (#ADE), we have MORE car trouble. So, even more seriously NOT a "short and easy" overlanding trip. But the views sure are incredible. Nothing like the Namib Desert to help you appreciate the enormity of our world! Compared to giant rolling dunes and mountains, what's a bit of car trouble anyway? Late to get going to our next destination in the NamibRand Private Reserve, we're certain to arrive after dark. The road there though puts all 4x4 trouble on the back burner for the duration of the drive. Spectacular! But we're faced with a very real problem when we realise the part we sourced is not exactly right for our old Land Cruiser. And that while we're very much in the middle of nowhere. As it arrived so late, and we had to get moving, and we had no time to get it installed, or to check whether it matched. Anyway, can't worry too much as next up, we're heading to a very special place for both of us - the first Namibian destination we visited during our first ever epic overlanding trip together: Sesriem, Deadvlei, and Sossusvlei. One of the most otherworldly and incredible destinations we've ever encountered, and well worth a revisit. And this time, we got to stay longer and see much more. Some new things, some things still the same ... like a serious lack of ice in the very hot desert! Spectacular views from Dune 45, a stroll in the desert to visit the 900-year-old trees in Deadvlei.
