It’s been exactly one year since we started building our apartments in Vorna Valley, Lusaka — and what a journey it has been! In this video, I share the full story of our progress, the challenges we’ve faced, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. From making our own blocks to roofing and plastering, this past year has been full of highs and lows. We’ve seen material costs like cement, quarry dust, and sand rise by nearly 35%, and we even faced flooding on the site earlier this year. But challenges brought opportunities — the heavy rains showed us the importance of investing in underground drainage systems such as French drains to secure the future of the project. We also found ways to save, sourcing timber from the Copperbelt at 20–35% less than Lusaka prices. And despite all the hurdles, we’ve achieved a lot: ✅ Roofing sheets installed ✅ Roof structures completed ✅ Plastering finished ✅ First fix plumbing done Looking ahead, our strategy is clear: we’re focused on completing the apartments and bringing this dream to life for the diaspora and local community. If you’re thinking about building apartments in Zambia or investing in property back home, I hope our journey inspires you and gives you real insight into the process. 📌 Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more updates on building in Zambia and Africa. #buildinginzambia #ApartmentsInZambia #ZambiaDiaspora #BuildingInZambia #ApartmentsInZambia #VornaValley #ZambiaDiaspora #InvestInZambia #BuildingDreamsInAfrica #ZambiaRealEstate #ConstructionInZambia #PropertyInvestmentAfrica #ZambiaHousing #zambia2025
