Sie fusionierte per 1. Januar 2003 mit der BVZ Zermatt-Bahn zur Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB), die heute die meterspurigen FO-Strecken betreibt. Die 97 Kilometer lange Bahnstrecke Brig–Disentis/Mustér verbindet die Kantone Graubünden, Uri und Wallis. Ursprünglich überwand sie den Furkapass und den Oberalppass, konnte aber nur im Sommer verkehren. Die Strecke über den Oberalppass wurde wintersicher ausgebaut, der Furkapass wird mit einem Basistunnel unterquert. --------------------------------- Le Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) était une compagnie ferroviaire à voie étroite en Suisse. Le 1er janvier 2003, elle a fusionné avec le BVZ Zermatt-Bahn pour former le Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB), qui exploite aujourd'hui les lignes FO à voie métrique. La ligne ferroviaire Brig-Disentis/Mustér, longue de 97 kilomètres, relie les cantons des Grisons, d'Uri et du Valais. À l'origine, il traversait le col de la Furka et le col de l'Oberalp, mais ne pouvait fonctionner qu'en été. L'itinéraire passant par le col de l'Oberalp a été rendu praticable en hiver et le col de la Furka est traversé par un tunnel de base. --------------------------------- The Furka-Oberalp-Bahn (FO) was a narrow-gauge railway company in Switzerland. On 1 January 2003, it merged with the BVZ Zermatt-Bahn to form the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn (MGB), which today operates the meter-gauge FO routes. The 97-kilometer-long Brig–Disentis/Mustér railway line connects the cantons of Graubünden, Uri and Valais. It originally crossed the Furka Pass and the Oberalp Pass, but could only operate in summer. The route over the Oberalp Pass has been made winter-proof, and a base tunnel runs under the Furka Pass.
