Why do so many Veterans feel betrayed—not just by war, but by what happens after the war ends? In this episode, I explore moral injury—a deep psychological wound that occurs when our values are violated by those in power. We look at two powerful and recent examples: ⚠️ The U.S. meeting with Syria’s new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa—a man who once fought against American troops, led al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, and had a $10 million bounty on his head... 🇦🇫 And the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, which left allies stranded and made many Veterans ask: Was it all for nothing? As a psychiatrist, Veteran, and former Flight Surgeon, I’m not here to take a political stance—I’m here to talk about what these events do to us as Veterans. How they hit our identity, our values, and our sense of purpose. Most importantly, I offer a solution: Rescripting the story. 💬 Drop a comment with your experience — I’d love to hear your thoughts. 🎵 Music: Out of Flux - The Lighthouse 🌐 Concise Psych Website: https://www.concisepsych.com/ 📚 The Ultimate Veteran's Guide to Overcoming PTSD, Anxiety, and Anger: Master Proven Tools to Transform Your Mental Health in 90 Days: https://www.concisepsych.com/missionr... 🪖 The Definitive Source for VA Disability Compensation Program Related Information: / @thecivdiv 🤖 Free AI App developed by Dr. Sharma to help find a Psychiatrist/Therapist in your area who accepts your Insurance: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-67c615bc4dfc8... 📱 Free AI App for VA Benefits Research/Guidance (created by a fellow Veteran, David Gray): https://chatgpt.com/g/g-o6twkWyX0-the... 🤖 Free AI App developed by Dr. Sharma to help you interpret Dreams using Freudian Analytic Theory: https://chatgpt.com/g/g-67c6179b15a88...
