Anyone out there who doesn’t want to give your dog the full snip ???? Have you considered chemical castration? It’s an injectable implant subcutaneously at the back of the neck - the bit he didn’t like was the cold anaesthetic gel and being held down - he actually was quite calm for the actual injection itself - Apparently the effects of this implant will last 6months to a year . Our vet said it’s wise not to immediately go for full castration to curb testosteroney behavioural issues or ‘humping’ etc as it is no guarantee that it’s not already learned behaviour and that needs to be trained out of them ie. aggressive behaviour However it will curb their need to mark their territory and they’re less likely to roam . Doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll stop humping but of course they’ll be ineffective. This will take 2 weeks to take effect so let’s watch this space
