I went on a delicious Lima food tour and explored the neighbourhood of Miraflores through its cuisine! So come along for a taste of Peruvian food in one of Lima's most visited neighbourhoods: 🥭 https://gyg.me/2YkT7UkF ⬅️ We kicked off this Lima food tour with a visit to Terruá Cafe. This was the meeting point for the tour, and we got to enjoy some coffee and learn about the Peruvian coffee-making process. Next up, we continued to La Preferida for a food tasting. We got to try pan con chicharrón, a Peruvian-style sandwich commonly eaten for breakfast. It consists of a bun filled with crispy fried pork, sweet potato slices and red onions pickled in lime juice. Then, it was on to Tortas Lucas for some classic Peruvian desserts. We tried Suspiro a la Limeña, a two-layered dessert made with manjar blanco and meringue. However, I got the Chocolucuma version with chocolate and lucuma (a local fruit). We also enjoyed a visit to Surquillo Market, where we visited a Honey Museum, browsed various stalls, and picked up some local fruits to sample, including chirimoya, passionfruit, pacay and many more. At Kintu Barras we enjoyed ceviche, a raw fish dish marinated in lime juice. Plus, we got to drink a chilcano, made with Pisco, ginger ale and lime. Lastly, we ended this Lima food tour with a visit to Manolo, a local eatery in Miraflores best known for its churros. You can get them stuffed with manjar blanco, chocolate or vanilla cream. This walking food tour was a super fun way to explore Miraflores and I got to see a different side of the neighbourhood I wasn't yet familiar with. The tour was 4 hours long and we got to enjoy so many Peruvian foods and exotic fruits. If you've got a few days in Lima and you're not too sure what to do, this food tour is a fun way to experience the city.
