Bangladeshi Folk Tribal Bamboo Dance Performance | Matal Sure Bajlo Bashi

This video presents a Bangladeshi Tribal Bamboo Dance performance to the song “Matal Sure Bajlo Bashi” and the performance was choreographed and led by Kamrunnesa Dolon, who performed alongside Arup and Topu, as part of a presentation of folk and tribal-inspired dance traditions. It was staged on 21 January 2026 at Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy (Studio Theatre Hall). The choreography is inspired by traditional Mizo bamboo dance (Cheraw style) from the state of Mizoram. In this dance, long bamboo poles are placed parallel to each other on the floor. Two or more people sit on the ground and move the bamboo poles by clapping them together and apart in a fixed pattern. The dancers step in and out between the moving poles in carefully timed sequences.
