The Bank of International Settlements is more innovative than you might think. In 2019, the Central Bank of Central Banks, as it’s often called, has opened an Innovation Hub with various locations around the world, including in Switzerland. It has, for example, collaborated with the Swiss National Bank to examine the usability of wholesale Central Bank Digital Currencies.
