Check us out at boston.aiga.org A Sneak Peek Into a Designer’s Day! Three awesome working designers walked us through a real project they worked on, and it was super insightful. They covered everything—from how the project kicked off with client meetings, all the way through research, brainstorming creative ideas, building out UX/UI screens, branding, and even game design. They didn’t just show the final product—they broke down their whole process. We got to see how they gather feedback, go back and redesign things, and manage to get it all done within tight deadlines. It was a real eye-opener into what a typical day (and challenge!) looks like for designers in the field. There are three video presentations; one is specifically how the designer and their team created branding for Conce; one is specifically how the designer created gaming design; one is specifically how the designer and their team created UX/UI. Each one is perfect for future design students (design teachers and parents/guardians too!) who want to see what working as a designer is really all about. Presenters: Ahmed Rashad is a digital product design leader dedicated to shaping meaningful digital experiences. He specializes in turning complex challenges into clear, impactful products that balance human needs with strategic business goals. Having led initiatives across branding, digital marketing, and user interface design within Fintech, E-commerce, and startups, Ahmed grounds his approach in the power of visual clarity and collaborative craft. His presentation will highlight a recent project that sits at the intersection of branding, product design and modern-day technology. www.ssustudio.com Jack Ross is a graphic designer who has received a BFA in Communication Design from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, class of 2022. He has experience working at graphic design firms, Architecture/Engineering, Banking, and freelance. He is currently working full time as a graphic designer at STV Inc, one of the nation's leading engineering and architecture firms. jackross.design Madalena Sliva, a multidisciplinary designer based near Boston, with Cape Verdean roots and a creative foundation shaped in Portugal. I began my design training in a Portuguese vocational high school, where I focused on graphic design alongside hands-on exploration in photography, film, screen printing, drawing, and woodworking. I later earned a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration at Lesley University, and with that mix of craft and strategy, I continue to shape how I approach every project. My practice focuses on translating ideas into clear, human-centered visual systems across print, digital, spatial, and motion work. I’ve collaborated with both startups and established organizations, guiding projects from early concept through iteration to final execution. I’m especially interested in sharing how projects evolve, showing not just the final outcome but the thinking, decisions, and revisions that bring the work to life. www.madalenaartz.com
