Uganda is pursuing an ambitious Tenfold Growth Strategy to expand its economy from approximately US$50 billion in FY2023/24 to US$500 billion by 2040. This, strategy is driven by the ATMS model—Agro-industrialization, Tourism development, Mineral development, and Science, Technology, and Innovation—aiming to create jobs and increase exports. Trade, both domestic and international, is a core engine for structural transformation, job creation and inclusive growth. Trade is the primary vehicle for distributing incomes, wealth creation and exporting the value-added products and services generated by the ATMS sectors. To translate the tenfold growth aspiration into reality, there is need for a national, evidencebased, multistakeholder dialogue that aligns trade strategy with priority transformation sectors
